Talking about nuclear war is so scarily that even a drunkard sobers immediately upon hearing it. Nuclear is no laughing matter that when a person talks about the possibility of having a nuclear, even the most arrogant person gets a chilly effect and starting to seriously think about it.
The consequences of a nuclear war are unimaginable that even talking about it sends a chilly effect around the world. Nuclear weapons, the only weapons which can end human civilisation has also become the only thing that can ensure would peace.
Both US and Russia possess enough nuclear weapons to destroy every city in the world with a population of 100,000 people ten times over. That’s to say, it will be the end of life on earth if the US and Russia ever engage in a nuclear war.
Although many people are accusing the US-led west of hypocrisy because they have failed to intervene in Ukraine, I think they are right not to do so because the consequences of such a simple-minded move could spark world war III and destroy everything on earth.
So today, it was good news from US after they announced the postponement of the test for Minuteman III nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missile. The situation is already tense and so it doesn’t make any sense to escalate it further through pointless tests of which you can postpone or leave together in order to maintain peace in the world.
After postponing the scheduled test of unmanned Intercontinental Minuteman III nuclear-capable ballistic missile, the Pentagon said in a statement released on Wednesday” we recognize, at the moment of tension, how critical it is that both the United States and the Russian federation bear in mind the risk of miscalculation and take steps to reduce those risks”.
Pentagon spokesperson said that the decision to postpone the test was meant to ” demonstrate that we have no intention of engaging in any actions that can be misunderstood or misconstrued”.
“We didn’t take this decision lightly, but instead to demonstrate that we are responsible nuclear power”, he said.
The decision to delay the scheduled test of Minuteman III nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missile comes after the Russian foreign minister Lavrov warned on national television that “the third world war will be fought using nuclear weapons”.
Few days ago after Putin announced military operation in Ukraine and warned of consciousness never experienced in human history for anyone who gets in Russia’s way when punishing Ukraine, a country he thinks was made so by Soviet Union and the two countries of Ukraine and Russia are brothers, Putin shocking ordered the Russian deterrence nuclear forces to be on high alert.
This scared a lot of people in the world because everyone knows what it means to fight a nuclear war, its catastrophic for human life that nobody wants to think about and most people usually take anybody talking of using nuclear weapons as insane and mad.
In human history, nuclear weapons were used once in second world war when US carried two nuclear warheads and dropped them on Japan before surrendering and from then the whole world has been afraid of using or engaging in a nuclear war. It also can’t be helped to think of how modern nuclear weapons can be destructive when unleashed.
Because nuclear weapons are so dangerous and destructive, the world has been trying to find a way to totally eliminate them but countries that possess them have hindered any progress even though some institutions like IAEA have been put in place to prevent more countries from producing these dangerous weapons.
The nuclear-capable Minuteman III is a key part of the US military-strategic arsenal with a range of more than 6000 miles or 9660 km and can travel at a speed of approximately 15000 miles per hour or 24000 km. These missiles are dispersed across the US in hardened underground silos operated by launch crews.
On Monday, Russia’s defense ministry said that its nuclear missile forces of northern and Pacific fleet had been placed on enhanced combat duty.
Even though US had previously condemned Putin’s orders to put Russia’s nuclear missile forces on high alert, Joe Biden the US president said there was no threat of nuclear war.
