According to Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson, the exaggerating and hyping of possibility of warfare is irresponsible behavior as he called on all sides to adapt equal and open attitude and work for earnest implementation of Minsk-2 agreement via dialogue and negotiation to create conditions for political resolution of Ukraine crisis.
With US led west in a standoff with Russia in negotiations over Ukraine crisis, all eyes have been on China to see what it says and whose side will it support incase Russia invades Ukraine.
US has tried demanding that China which has a close relationship with Russia, persuade Putin the president of Russia not to invade Ukraine according to white house but China has maintained its position by calling on all sides to come to the table and negotiate a peaceful resolution.
There is no doubt that China supports Russia on Ukraine crisis as we saw in UN security council where China vetoed the resolution on Russia over Ukraine crisis and the statement issued during president Vladimir Putin’s visit to China during the opening ceremony of Beijing winter Olympics.
The statement said that Russia’s security concerns and demands should be taken seriously while Russia opposed Taiwan Independence and supported China’s stance on Taiwan issue which angered Taiwanese authorities.
China knows very well that after Russia, all Western countries led by the US will turn their focus on China as US has been reaching out to a number of countries to come togather to challenge China from becoming hegemony in Asia Pacific region.
China knows very well US behavior of creating tensions in different regions of the world with governments which aren’t friendly to US led order or its foreign policy which inturn helps US to deploy military assets in that region citing a need to maintain peace and stability or freedom of navigation incase of South China.
We have seen US companies benefit from tensions created by the US by selling weapons to different governments in regions where there’s tension like Taiwan has bought weapons worth billions of dollars citing a threat from China, Indonesia recently signed a 14 billion arms deal with US and Japan bought f-35 fighter jets from US citing China and North Korea threats, in Europe, countries like Poland, Romania, Lithuania, Ukraine, Norway, Sweden are all buying US weapons citing a threat from Russia.
The US is worried that president Vladimir Putin of Russia will invade Ukraine if China offers its support as China will be able whether all the sanctions put against Russia like it did in 2014.
