Russia’s newly appointed Gen. Dvornikov has ordered military strikes against more than 800 Ukraine targets sending a chilling message to Zelensky and his supporters that things will be done differently this time.
In any war, decision-making is a key to success and I think Russia has lost many men in Ukraine not because its military is weak but because of poor planning and organization leading to poor execution on the ground.
Ukraine war has proven one important factor that has been there but nevertheless not taken seriously” the importance of space and use of the combined command”.
According to reports that were coming out of Ukraine in the first days of Russia’s special military operation, you could see a lack of coordination among different Russian military breaches and units which cost them dearly.
The future will be fought in space and once you are blinded by knocking out space-based assets like satellites, then the war will be over before you know it.
Ukraine has benefited very much from the intelligence provided by the US and its allies including private companies in the US.
The intelligence has helped Ukraine which is a weak country to spot the Russian military movements, organizations, and the type of weapons carried to anticipate their next moves and stage ambushes against Russian forces.
But the biggest weapon against Russia’s military has been the information war waged on all fronts by Ukraine supported by western politicians and their international media houses.
They have been able to use people’s emotions to blackmail Russian troops fighting in Ukraine forcing them to lose interest in fighting and causing low morale which is a very dangerous enemy on a battlefield.
This is not the first time western countries are using information warfare as a means to defeat a powerful enemy, we saw this happen against Saddam of Iraq, Gaddafi of Libya, and Assad of Syria.
The new Gen Dvornikov who commanded Russian forces in Syria in the liberation of the Assad government has seen this kind of warfare play out in Syria and he knows how to counter it.
Although information warfare has helped Ukraine very much against the Russian military forces, the biggest disadvantages Russia’s military had was disorganization and lack of knowledge on how to use different resources as a combined force to give it a force multiplayer on a battlefield.
If Gen Dvornikov who commanded Russian forces in Syria employs the same tactics, then there will not be a lot of black mail against Russian forces on the ground and he will, first of all, make sure to instill fear among Ukrainian soldiers fighting on the ground by intensifying attacks.
Ukraine soldiers with the help of US and UK advisers have been turning schools, hospitals, and residential homes into military barracks and a staging ground to launch attacks against Russia knowing well that Russian forces will not dare bomb such facilities for fear of world backlash but this new Gen Dvornikov who have seen what the US did in Syria will not fall to such tricks and we are likely to see more reports in western media about Russia increasing attacks against such facilities were Ukraine troops are hiding.
If he acts as he is known to, in a few days Ukrainian soldiers will feel like there is nowhere to hide and pressure will mount on Ukrainian commanders and president Zelensky including western countries supporting him.
Putin has been more worried about killing civilians but now he understands that the west including president Zelensky is using that as his weakness in fighting against him and if he wants to win this war, he has to change tactics and overlook some of the issues like high moral ground that the west has not been giving him anyway from the beginning.
From the information we are getting, Gen Dvornikov is experienced in commanding a multi-dimensional war bringing in space assets to assist ground troops in combination with air assets and Sea assets since this is where Russia’s strength lies which must be fully utilized.
He is also experienced in urban warfare as he has been fighting in the Chechen war, Georgia war, and Syria war which means he has a clear understanding of urban warfare.
I think what has been holding the Russian military back is a political decision back at home in Russia and western countries have utilized this to help Zelensky and Ukrainian soldiers since Ukraine is not bond by war crimes as its a weak country and is defending itself according to western countries which has given it a chance to practice the “unrestricted warfare” against Russia’s military forces which are much stronger and are bound by international laws but if Putin decided that enough is enough, then we will likely see the destruction on a scale never seen before in modern warfare.
The coming few days and weeks will give us an idea of where the war is meant to be going.
