Russia’s military has announced that it has used its advanced new Su-34 fighter jet to destroy Ukraine’s military facilities and military equipment of Ukraine armed force.
Some of the Ukraine military facilities and military equipment of Ukraine armed forces destroyed include car parks of military equipment, armored vehicles, and weapon depots.
According to the crews of Russia’s Su-34 fighter jet, the bombing on discovered ground targets was carried out from medium altitude.
Su-34 is a Soviet Union-origin Russian twin-engine, twin-seat, all-weather supersonic medium-range fighter bomber/ strike fighter jet. It first flew in the 1990s intended for the Soviet Union airforce but it didn’t enter service until 2014 with the Russian airforce.
Su-34 fighter jet has a speed of March 2.2 and a range of 4000 km with a length of 23m. It’s manufactured by Sukhoi and one unit cost is 36 million dollars.
Su-34 is one of Russia’s most capable all-weather fighter jets, capable of ground, surface, and air attacks and it has been tested in Syria in combat.
Russia was careful with its advanced fighter jets at the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine where just a fraction of the Soviet Union built fighter bombers like Su-24s and Su-25s that were used in combination with helicopters to target Ukraine’s military infrastructure.
In total, it said that Russia used a combined total of 70 aircraft including helicopters but Russia has a total of 1300 fighter aircraft in its airforce.
