Andrey Paliy was 51 years old,1 St rank and deputy commander of Russia’s black sea fleet. Andrey Paliy was shot and killed near maruipal during fighting and he was in charge of humanitarian corridor put in place to make sure civilians are evacuated safely.
Reports indicate that Andrey Paliy is the first high ranking Russian military officer to die since the start of Russia-Ukraine war in February.
Andrey Paliy was originally from Keiv and that where he was born before pledging allegance to Russia and enlisting into Russia’s Navy after the fall of Soviet Union.
As part of his 50th birthday party day celebration last year, the military museum of the city write a tribute to him. He was praised for parachuting into freezing waters of black sea during the occasion.
