The Russian military transport planes have sofar evacuated more than 2000 people from Kazakhstan including both Russians and foreign citizens since the unrest began.
Kazakhstan become chaotic at the beginning of 2022 after people went to street to protest due to increase in fuel prices.
Later as unrest spreads to the whole country, president Kassym Jomart declared the state of emergency and forced cabinet ministers to resign but this did little to put down the unrest which was starting to look like a war as certain groups of people, beheaded police officers, took over and burnt government buildings.
President Kassym Jomart then ordered security forces to “shoot to kill”as he denounced acts of terrorism showed by people on the streets, he promised to bring the country which was on blink of a war back to normal.
President Kassym Jomart then called president Putin of Russia asking for help of which Putin accepted without delay by deploying CSTO peace keepers in the country that helped in bringing the situation under control.
Russian-led security alliance had trained more than 3600 peace keepers and they have been on stand by since 2007 to act incase of any emergency in member states.
President Kassym Jomart yesterday declared that the coup de’tat was over and he held a summit with other heads of states of CSTO where it was announced that peace keepers brought in Kazakhstan will be withdrawing starting tomorrow.
More than 164 people were killed- including a 4 year-old child and Police officers, more than 9000 people were arrested and peace has been restored in the country.
Putin declared that he will never allow colour revolutions to happen in former Soviet republics as he compared what happened in Kazakhstan to what happened in maidan Ukraine in 2014.
China which borders Kazakhstan offered full support to the government of Kazakhstan and the deployment of Russian-led security alliance peace keepers in the country to stop the unrest.
China knows well how peaceful protest can turn into uncontrollable Chaos and destruction after what happened in Hong Kong in 2019 and Chinese leaders also feared that continued unrest in Kazakhstan was not only bad for Chinese Nationals doing business in the country and continued Belt and Road Initiative but also would destabilize xinjiang region of China which borders Kazakhstan.
