
Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan has arrived in Beijing China to attend Beijing winter Olympics games opening ceremony on Friday on a 4 day state visit where he will also meet government officials.
He was accompanied by Pakistan foreign minister Shah Muhmood Qureshi, finance minister Shaukat Tarin and minister for planning and development Asad Umar, minister for information and broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, National security adviser on commerce Abdul Razzaq Dawood and special assistant on China-Pakistan economic corridor Kahild Mansoor.
Besides attending the opening ceremony of Beijing winter Olympics games, Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan will meet with Chinese president Xi Jinping and prime minister Li Keqiang to discuss host of issues.
During the visit, the book titled ” China-Pakistan Economic Corridor- Investment opportunities in Pakistan” will be presented to Chinese president Xi Jinping and prime minister Li Keqiang and businessmen.
According to Pakistan foreign minister, Shah Muhmood, Imran Khan’s visit to China will help promote high level exchanges and expand bilateral relations in diverse sectors.
He said Imran Khan will propose to Chinese leadership to relocate their industry in Pakistan’s special economic zone which is a win-win situation besides extending assistance to agriculture.
National security adviser Dr. Moeed Yusuf in a video message that the visit will provide an opportunity to discuss ways to promote peace in Afghanistan.
The adviser said that Pakistan and China will make a joint effort to ensure that terrorism is not carried from Afghanistan but rather a country becomes an opportunity for trade.
China and Pakistan describe themselves as iron brothers and have been cooperating with each on trade, investments and security in the region.
Recently reports indicated that prime minister Imran Khan is going to request a loan amounting to 4 billion dollars from China to help with the recovery from covid-19 pandemic which heavily weighed on Pakistan economy like any other country in the world.
