Russian President Vladimir Putin warns NATO on Tuesday not to cross a “red line” in Ukraine, saying that if they do, Moscow will be forced to retaliate, whilst bragging about launching Russia’s hypersonic missile or deploying troops.

Putin has stated that deploying NATO forces or advanced missile systems on Ukrainian land, capable of striking Moscow in moments, would be a “step too far” for Russia.

NATO has taken no action along these lines, most likely due to its fear of a Russian strike.

“If some kind of strike systems appear on the territory of Ukraine, the flight time to Moscow will be seven to 10 minutes, and five minutes in the case of a hypersonic weapon being deployed. Just imagine,” Putin said.

“What are we to do in such a scenario? We will have to then create something similar in relation to those who threaten us in that way. And we can do that now,” Putin added, referencing Russia’s recent tests of a hypersonic missile.

Putin issued the warning to NATO amid suspicions that Russia is planning an invasion of Ukraine. Tens of thousands of Russian troops have gathered at Ukraine’s border for the second time this year.

However, The Kremlin denies any ambitions to invade, blaming the tensions on NATO.

Ukraine has reported that more than 90,000 Russian troops have assembled on its border, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed last week that he has discovered a Russian-led coup plan.

Putin has the region on edge, and it’s uncertain what he’ll do next.

According to the Associated Press, Putin has stated that the Zircon hypersonic cruise missile, which is set to start operations with the Russian Navy in 2022, is capable of travelling nine times the speed of sound and has a range of around 620 miles.

Putin said on Tuesday that the missile could hit some targets in “just five minutes.”

Hypersonic missiles are meant to fly at least five times the speed of sound and are essentially unstoppable. The United States, Russia, and China are competing to create hypersonic weapons on a worldwide scale as the global arms race reaches a new level.

Putin warns NATO: OPINION

It is wrong and dangerous for the US and NATO to always think that they can just neglect Russia’s and China’s red lines which is why Putin has decided to act once Russian red lines are crossed, the era of hoping that NATO will listen is over and Putin is making a stand and drawing the line in the sand for everyone to see.

The biggest problem is that both US and NATO think that its only their interests that should be protected to the expanse of others like Russia or China or Iran and the list goes, the US is thousands of miles away from all countries it calls a threat of adversaries like Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Syria and more others which is quite interesting given that the US feels its no threat to all those countries it sanctioning day and day while encircling them with hundreds of military bases.

In 2018, the Russian president said that the west has been not taking Russian concerns very seriously and it was time to start taking them seriously but as you know many officials mostly from the US branded it as rhetoric and intimidation as usual and now they are waking up to reality only to start making alarms about Russian troop deployment near Ukraine border.

In a speech, Putin said that “in response to the threats of missile attack the US is introducing against Russia, Americans in their command centres, all of them, are now targeted directly” meaning that all US command and control centres in Europe including those in Romania, Poland, Germany, Belgium and the UK and US command centres in the continental US.

In the same speech, Putin warned that “if Aegis-ashore system – US missile batteries currently based in Romania and Poland or Aegis afloat system on US navy vessels in Black, Aegean and Mediterranean Seas are detected preparing to fire on Russian targets, the Russian response will be to launch counter-attacks on US targets within a 12- minute range.”

The Russian launch order will be “mirror or asymmetric; that is, it may precede by seconds or minutes Russian detection of US fire control orders”. Putin said.

“What is important in this regard? There is some new information. These weapons will fully correspond to the threats directed against Russia in their technical specifications, including flight times to these decision-making centres. we know how to do this and will immediately as soon as the threats to us becomes real. I do not think we need any further, irresponsible exacerbation of the current international situation. We do not want this.”

Putin also warned against daydreaming of some US officials who think that the US will always have military superiority in the world “What would I like to add? Our American colleagues have already tried to gain absolute military superiority with their global missile defence project. They need to stop deluding themselves, our response will always be efficient and effective.”

Within the US elite, there are also many people who have excessive faith in their exceptionalism and supremacy over the rest of the world. Of course, it is their right to think what they want. But can they count? probably they can, so let them calculate the range and the speed of our future arms systems. This is all we are asking:

Just do the maths first and take decisions that create additional serious threats to our country afterwards. it goes without saying that these decisions will prompt Russia to respond in order to ensure its security in a reliable and unconditional manner” Putin said.

So Putin has for many years been warning about the threat posed by NATO’s aggressive move east policy and how Russia was preparing to respond.

Although the US escaped most of the world wars like world war I and World war II unscratched, the coming war will be felt on US soil because more and more countries are starting to look for ways to take the war to the US itself so that its citizens can know how it feels to live under wars.
