A disaster relief supply transportation fleet dispatched by China’s People’s liberation army(PLAN) Navy arrived at Nuku’olofa port, Tonga at around 10:00 a.m. on February 15,2022.
This is the second batch of aid China after Tonga was hit by volcanic eruption which caused tsunami last month. China delivered 1400 tonnes worth of household necessities, including drinking water and food.
According to China’s media, the items delivered were disinfected many times as a part of covid-19 pandemic control measures
China has adapted zero policy when to comes to covid-19 pandemic where the government tracks, indentifies and treaty infected patients. This zero covid-19 policy include mass testing and lockdowns where entire cities are closed down for few covid-19 cases.
This means that China takes covid-19 pandemic control very seriously and has been at forefront in fighting the pandemic that had sofar killed millions of people around the world even though it has been defeated in China.
