
When it comes to space program, China has proven to equal among the few top world space power with only US still in front. China’s space program is developing at unprecedented speed and if this trend continues, it may even surpass US.
Space is today defined as the next frontier as countries battle to lead the next space exploration like building of bases on the moon to house humans and conquering the red planet (Mars). It will also involve space tourism which is said to be worth billions of dollars and will only grow as more private sectors get involved.
China’s new generation carrier rocket the Long March 8 Y2 will carry about 22 satellites in to space between late February and early March according to China’s academy of vehicle technology.
The new Long March 8 Y2 is developed by China’s Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology with reported mass of 356,000kg with ability to launch up to 4,500 kg to 700 km altitude(SSO).
The new generation long March carrier rocket has a diameter of 3.35 m, height of 50.34 m, width of 1.4 , a mass of 356,000 kg and is a two stage rocket. It has capability to launch a payload of 8,400 kg into LEO and a pay load of 2,800 kg into GTO.
The Long March 8 Y2 new generation carrier rocket is comparable to Russia’s soyuz-2 and it has one successfully launch which was carried in December of 2020.
